Frequently Asked Questions

Got Questions?

We've answered the most common questions homeowners ask before starting a project. Don't see yours? Just ask us directly.

General

Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes. We hold Texas General Contractor License #GC-204817, carry $2 million in general liability insurance, and maintain workers' compensation coverage for every member of our crew. We're happy to send proof of coverage before any project begins.
Do you use your own crew or subcontractors?
All Apex projects are handled by our own full-time, background-checked employees. We do not subcontract your job out to strangers. Every person who enters your home has been personally hired and trained by us.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the greater Austin metro area, including Cedar Park, Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Kyle, Buda, Leander, Hutto, and Manor. For projects outside this radius, contact us — we evaluate on a case-by-case basis.
How long have you been in business?
Apex was founded in 2008 by Marcus Webb. We've been operating continuously in Central Texas for 15+ years with an A+ BBB rating and zero unresolved complaints.

Estimates & Pricing

Is the estimate really free?
Yes, completely free. We'll visit your property, assess the work, and provide a detailed written quote at no cost and with no obligation to proceed.
How soon will I get my written quote?
Within 24 hours of our site visit. Quotes are itemized — materials, labor, disposal, permit fees (if applicable) — all broken out clearly. No vague "ballpark" numbers.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept check, bank transfer, and all major credit cards. We typically structure payment as 50% at contract signing and 50% upon project completion — though we're flexible for larger projects.
Will the final price match the quote?
In almost all cases, yes. If unforeseen issues are discovered (e.g., hidden water damage during a remodel), we stop, explain what we found, and get your written approval before any additional work proceeds. We never add costs without your consent.

Roofing

How do I know if I need a repair or full replacement?
We'll tell you honestly after our inspection. If your roof is under 15 years old with isolated damage, a repair often makes sense. If it's older, has widespread granule loss, or multiple leak points, replacement is usually more cost-effective long-term. We never recommend replacement just to pad a ticket.
Do you help with insurance claims?
Absolutely. We document storm damage thoroughly and meet your insurance adjuster on-site to walk through our findings. We advocate to maximize your approved claim. Most of our insurance clients pay only their deductible.
What warranty comes with a new roof?
As a GAF Master Elite certified installer, we can offer GAF's lifetime shingle warranty plus a 25-year system warranty on labor and materials. We also back our work with a separate 5-year Apex workmanship guarantee on top of the manufacturer coverage.

Remodeling

How long does a kitchen remodel take?
A cosmetic kitchen refresh (cabinets, countertops, backsplash) typically takes 2–3 weeks. A full gut renovation with layout changes usually takes 4–6 weeks. We'll give you a specific timeline in your written quote — and we stick to it.
Do I need to move out during a remodel?
For kitchen remodels, most clients stay in the home with minor adjustments (temporary kitchen setup). For full bathroom gut renovations, you'll want access to another bathroom during the work. We'll discuss this during our consultation.
Do you pull permits for remodeling work?
Yes. Any work that requires a permit (structural changes, electrical, plumbing) is permitted. We pull all necessary permits, schedule inspections, and ensure the work is code-compliant. This protects your home's value and insurance coverage.
Can I supply my own materials (tile, fixtures, etc.)?
Yes, with some conditions. We're happy to install owner-supplied materials if they're up to code and compatible with the project. We'll note this in the quote and adjust accordingly. We do recommend our supplier network for most items — we get contractor pricing that often beats retail.
